Dave Bolland is out indefinitely after severing a tendon in his left ankle against Vancouver. It has been a rough week for the Toronto Maple Leafs as forward, Dave Bolland severed a tendon in his left ankle by a Vancouver player’s skate in a 4-0 loss against the Canucks last Saturday.  Bolland underwent successful surgery the next to repair the severed tendon, but is out indefinitely. What made things worse for the Leafs is the team had five days off before facing the New Jersey Devils. Despite the long layoff, Toronto played extremely well against the Devils. There was no scoring until the third period when Phil Kessel retrieved the puck on a routine dump in, skated up the ice, went around the Devil’s defense and scored. The Devils scored on the power play shortly thereafter and tied the game 1-1. Nothing was solved in overtime.   As a result, the game went to a shoot-out. James Van Riemsdyk scored the lone goal in the shoot-out, giving the Leafs a 2-1 victory and an 11-5  record. ...
